PlaylistPort · FAQ

Looking for a SongShift alternative on Android or Apple devices?

A SongShift alternative is most useful when it fits the device and transfer route you actually use. If you are moving playlists from an Android phone or want to explore a different app workflow, PlaylistPort offers App Store and Google Play downloads. Confirm the route in your version before moving a large library.

What should you know about SongShift?

The official SongShift FAQ describes an iPhone and iPad app for moving playlists, albums and songs. Basic playlist transfer is free, with optional Pro features including batch transfers, monitoring and file transfers. The SongShift website also describes reviewing matches. Check its current information for device support and purchase details.

SongShift is therefore a relevant option for someone already working on an iPhone or iPad. A different app is not automatically a better choice: compare the route and the result, not just the name of the transfer service.

Can you use PlaylistPort on Android?

PlaylistPort has an official Google Play listing. The PlaylistPort download page brings together the store links and product information. Before installing, check availability for your country and device; before paying or starting a large transfer, confirm the services and limits shown in that version.

Do not assume that the Android and Apple versions have identical service coverage. An app being available on a phone does not guarantee a particular source-to-destination pairing. This matters especially if your source is a private playlist, liked-songs collection or a service account with regional restrictions.

How do you move playlists when switching phones?

Music-service accounts and playlists are separate from your old phone's local files. If you keep using the same music service, signing into the same account on the new phone may be all you need. A cross-service transfer is useful when you also change the music provider.

If you are changing providers, sign into the correct source and destination accounts, transfer a small playlist and confirm the result on the new phone. Keep the source playlist until you have checked the destination. Our Android to iPhone playlist guide walks through that distinction; the YouTube Music to Apple Music guide covers a common service change.

What should you check after a transfer?

Compare song versions, not just titles. A live recording or cover can have a similar name to the track you wanted. Also check explicit versus clean versions, ordering and missing tracks. Use our wrong song matches checklist to investigate mismatches.

Neither changing the transfer app nor changing the phone guarantees that every source recording exists in the destination catalogue. Offline downloads and subscription payments do not follow a playlist transfer. If you need recurring updates, verify that feature separately rather than treating one successful copy as proof of automatic synchronization.

See our TuneMyMusic, Soundiiz and SongShift comparison for other workflows, or download PlaylistPort to check your route.
