Waketag · FAQ

Why do edited music tags not appear in my music player?

First reopen the exact saved file in Waketag and verify its title, artist or artwork. Then check that the player is reading that same copy, not an older import or duplicate. Refresh its library or re-import the file if needed. Tag and image support varies between formats and players, so confirm the behavior with a small sample.

Steps to follow

  1. Identify the saved file's exact location and reopen that copy in Waketag to confirm the edited metadata.
  2. Check whether the player imported a separate older copy, particularly when cloud and local folders contain duplicates.
  3. Refresh or re-import a small test file in the player and compare its display with Waketag.

Verify the file before changing tags again

A stale library entry can look like an unsuccessful edit. Repeatedly rewriting a correct file will not fix a player that reads a different copy. If a particular tag or cover still does not appear, check that player's format support with a representative sample.
